AAA Senior Vice President of Travel Paula Twidale provides insight into how travelers are impacted by surging gas prices ahead of the Memorial Day holiday.
On Friday, the national average of one gallon of gas was $4.59, according to AAA. Last year it was priced at $3.04 -- $1.55 less, as Americans continue to feel the pain at the pump with record gas prices. , as airports are "packed" and drivers are continuing to hit the road, Twidale noted. AAA Senior Vice President of Travel Paula Twidale told FOX Business that Americans will continue to travel ahead of the Memorial Day weekend despite high gas prices but with ‘behavioral changes.
"We're encouraging people to book early, be flexible, book ahead, do all the things you can do," she suggested.
