Yesterday’s chaotic scenes at the country’s main international hub saw hundreds of passengers queuing outside the terminal buildings for hours. Speaking on RTÉ’s Morning Ireland programme today, DAA spokesperson Kevin Cullinane apologised to those who missed flights and said the airport authority would reimburse passengers who have been left out of pocket.

But concern is now growing ahead of the bank holiday weekend, with Minister of State Hildegarde Naughton, who has responsibility for International Transport, set to meet with DAA chief executive Dalton Philips this morning.

How can we if the only flights to our destinations are based in Dublin Airport. Ask a sensible question not a daft stupid question

It certainly has ! Shannon from now on 👍

And now we get to the real issue. This is being manufactured to manipulate people into not travelling. Mad queues + ridiculously expensive car hire is not organic.

Yes, it has made me decide to go and not come back. Working from home in Greece for a few months.

We pay taxes for these wasters. Why should we change

How can it make us change our minds the DAA ignored the other airports on the island most of us have no choice but to use Dublin Airport for most long haul flights past is catching up with them

Because if it has, don't go near Paris or Amsterdam. Or anywhere in America.

No, but forced medical procedures has.

If 1/4 of the money, that is being invested into dublin airport, was invested into shannon, knock, cork aiports ect. there would not be a problem. Typical Ireland pump all investment into dublin, including hospitals and wonder why there's such problems then.

I knew a fella YEARS ago who loved going to Lanzarote who said if he won a free holiday there only he had to leave from Dublin Airport he wouldn't go. And that was years ago

Belfast for me !

Incompetent people running the airport. Wasting traveller's time, money, energy, sanity. Shameful. HAS TO BE FIXED, FOR GOOD... BY THURSDAY FOR THE LONG WEEKEND!

No not the chaos at the airport. I'm not flying this year so that will help the climate change in the Ukraine and that will mean more weapons and less storms

I travelled out of ShannonAirport yesterday going to Toronto via London Heathrow and it was a wonderful experience.

What choice do I have? Flights booked months ago to connect with a cruise booked last year. Travelling next Friday and trying not to panic. I live 20 mins from DA, why should I incur further expense flying from another airport?

Yep, I'm going to Connemara instead of Mayo

Will wait until Autumn! Staying in beautiful Connemara, will not give in to Hotel gougers!

I would go as far as Belfast at anytime not just now. Hate the place.

Yes. I will not fly from Dublin Airport again.

No I staycationing

Yes of course.

I would happily fly from somewhere else if more flights went from ShannonAirport
