The number of trips being taken in and out of Australia has almost doubled since March, according to the latest figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics .
Despite this, these nations are not being avoided by travellers. “As we swing out of this, people just want to get back to Europe,” said Sharyn Kitchener, managing director of Mosman Travel. “If they get sick, they isolate and rest up until they test negative on a RAT, take a Lemsip – then keep going.”
Germany, Italy, Cyprus, Austria, Greece and Estonia are among the latest batch of nations to drop all COVID-19 travel restrictions for visitors. The UK led the way, dropping masks and COVID passports back in January; while France dropped masks from mid-May. When it comes to travel, it’s still a catch-22, depending on how relaxed you feel about COVID. Naturally, the fewer COVID-related rules and requirements, the easier it is for people to move around and the more they can relax and enjoy their trip.
