Howard Levitt: The real value of a wrongful dismissal case depends on how badly a company wants the facts buried
Employers in industries forced to close down have had the difficulty of their employees moving on to other industries and jobs and reluctant to return to jobs they now view as perilous and insecure. To protect themselves from future constructive dismissal claims, they should develop contracts permitting them the right to lay off non-union employees for lack of work. They already have that right with unionized employees.
They should provide employees bonuses to return to work but have a provision requiring repayment and deduction from an employee’s final earnings if they resign within, say, six months. Another alternative is a sliding scale of reimbursement depending upon how long the employee remains before resigning.

Pay more
Pay them.
No it’s a symptom of the Blackface regime.
1. Pay them a wage that would allow a family on a single income. 2. Give them benefits. 3. Give them a work schedule that allows for family and personal time. 4. Ensure protections for speech at the workplace. None of these are too much to ask.
