PETALING JAYA: The police have received 22 reports against a travel agency that allegedly cheated a large group of haj pilgrims.

Kuala Lumpur International Airport OCPD Asst Comm Imran Abd Rahman confirmed that the police were currently investigating the matter.

“As of now, 22 reports have been lodged and reports are being made by victims from all over,” he said when contacted, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating.He added that most who were stuck at the airport had since returned home.The group, who was gathered at level five of KLIA’s departure hall, was said to have been issued the furada or private haj visa to perform their pilgrimage without going through Lembaga Tabung Haji.
