What happened to Stephanie Schinkel recently is now common for air travellers, as her flight was cancelled just four hours before departure.
“It was cancelled for staff shortages,” says Schinkel. “So they just didn’t have staff. And that's why the first flight was delayed, as well… lack of staff.” Under Canada's passenger rights charter, airlines must pay in cases of cancellation or major delays stemming from reasons within their control.“This properly recognizes that the top priority for any carrier is to operate safely and that there should be no penalties for making decisions based on safety.”
Air Canada thinks that them not having standby staff for a large country lets them blame every issue on 'safety'. CTA is no more useful than the CRTC is for cell companies. CTA just goes along with what Air Canada replies. Time for a class-action. Let the courts decide.
I feel I’ve heard this before…
Conservative Donors run the airlines.
This is SUCH a SCAM! It’s a management issue, not a “safety” issue. They oversell tickets, knowing they are short-staffed, then cancel flights and take WEEKS to reimburse, (if at all) — puts loads of money in their coffers without having to deliver services 🤬.
Did or does Air Canada receive federal fumding from tax payers ?
Canada is so fucked up since Trudeau took over.
Who again is the transportation minister? This is his fault along with incompetent liberal leadership
