Transport strikes: More travel misery as London Underground and bus staff begin latest walkout

"This government-led assault on staff will be disastrous, as no other comparable urban transport system in the world operates without financial support from central government to ensure good and reliable services.

"All these strikes are doing is hurting those people the unions claim to represent, many of whom will again be out of pocket and forced to miss a day's work. Passengers using national rail services today will be left feeling the hangover of Thursday's strikes, with the network having to catch up to get trains where they need to be before resuming journeys.

I hope the media & politicians take it on board. No one thinks about the cleaner who cleans the train. So many other low paid staff too, the retail worker who serves us in a shop. Many paying high rent & yet what is the response? those asking for more help are being selfish?

We’re all in the same boat with wages. Difference is that the majority of us don’t try to hold the public to ransom by ruining their plans! growup

I support the Strike.

I wish my work would offer my 8% salary increase 🫣
