Rina: Fish-based product manufacturers can save on transportation costs by setting up factories in Mersing.
Mersing District Council’s newly appointed chief whip Rina Farhana Abdullah said, “having factories in the Mersing district will give the council extra income”. Fish-based products also have high demand, and Mersing is blessed with an abundance of marine life that can be harvested and turned into a variety of products, she said.On a related issue, she said that councillors played a vital role in being intermediaries between the people and the government.
“Mersing is already well-known for its tourist activities, and with the additional income, we can improve our services and better promote tourism,” she said.
