Slow Food is a grassroots organization started to preserve local food cultures and traditions

A group of 12 Algoma University students are traveling to Turin, Italy to to learn about the Slow Food movement.

Slow Food is a grassroots organization, founded in 1989 to preserve local food cultures and traditions, as well as to counteract the rise of fast food. “I’m deeply grateful for this opportunity to participate in this amazing opportunity to travel to Terra Madre and witness other Indigenous cultures,” said Nadine Roach, a student in the Community Economic and Social Development program, in a press release. “This will be an extraordinary educational experience.”
