Buy from discount carriers and you can get burned at the last minute. It's not worth the savings. Consider this story from 2008.

Considering how badly AirCanada treats it’s clients and their luggage/wheelchairs I think there’s a good chance they will survive

Taxes and fees will kill them. Article doesn’t mention half the price is taxes and fees. Government makes it hard to start and survive.

Luckily I don't need to count pennies for a flight, not that I can afford first class. It's about the whole experience. Took my first flight from Billy Bishop in Toronto to Moncton this past summer. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. And it was cheaper than WestJet or AC
