Titled “The Lost Recipe,” the fantasy-romance has some of the interesting elements of “Maria Clara at Ibarra,” like time travel and showcasing Filipino culture through food.
“The Lost Recipe” follows Harvey Napoleon , a chef whose specialty is adobo. When his restaurant loses customers, he is granted the opportunity to travel back in time where he meets Conchita Valencia, the mother of Philippine cuisine. Harvey accidentally takes her adobo recipe and consequently erases Conchita’s food empire. Because of this, the young chef decides to use the recipe to recover from his past failures.
A talented cook and Consuelo’s granddaughter named Apple Valencia applies to work at Harvey’s restaurant, where they work together and share their passion for food. Harvey then starts to learn more about how his time travel affected the present day.
