The Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Assistant Minister said the area offered huge untapped attractions, which would assist Kunak in developing its tourism potential.
"While Sime Darby's primary business is plantation, we believe it would be in the company's best interest to consider exploring opportunities to work with the local community and promote tourism in the area," he added. Also present were Federation of Rural Tourism Association Sabah president Walter Kandayon, Kunak Tourism Association chairman Mohammad Hatta Arabi, Kunak assistant district officer Rubert Salimon and Sime Darby senior manager Mohammad Syafrie.
