Since the invasion of Ukraine, Ireland has welcomed over 50,000 Ukrainians and many of them are being housed in tourist towns where there are a significant number of hotel beds.

Mr O’Callaghan said he is worried about “where our town is going” and that public services are ill-equipped to cope with such a steep rise in its population.

While the hotels are filled by the refugees at taxpayer expense yet they still fleece tourists in bar and restaurant prices I don't see the sector surviving!

Why so many men? Should they not be fighting for their country?.
What's he worried about? The gang violence on the streets? The rape of young women and children? The leeching of money send resources from the taxpayer? The 2nd class treating of the Irish over these refugees from a huge country with lots of safe areas?
He must not be getting a cut out it.
Ppl wouldn't mind if those coming in were actually in need,how many of those from UA for instance,aren't in need ,arent from the conflict area but are here for what they can get,I bet there's are 1000s! many driving thru 5-6 countries, possibly catching 2 ferries just to be here!
Refugees should only be housed in areas where TDs who support mass migration live. Near TD houses and their constituents - not dumped on areas who don’t want this.
Ireland needs to do much much more.less winging and more action.
It’s not just about one town. The whole country is facing this problem.
get over it, the diversity loving liberals and left-wingers have decided they want no diversity in their nice leafy suburbs so small rural towns have to take them instead
