Ontario\u0027s tourism industry is not expected to fully recover from the pandemic until 2025.

Tourism businesses in the province are generating 64 per cent of the revenues they saw in 2019, on average, and seven in 10 report they have taken on debt to stay afloat, according to the OCC and Tourism Industry Association of Ontario report set to be released Tuesday. As the Canadian national soccer teams head to their respective FIFA World Cups, Derek Van Diest is on the scene to cover all the action.

Ontario could also encourage cannabis tourism, through regulatory changes around special event permits and consumption lounges, Safayeni said. However, there is a challenge not only with drawing tourists to Ontario, but drawing people to work in the industry. There has been an 81 per cent increase in tourism and hospitality job postings compared to 2019, the report said.

But immigration backlogs and rules for certain programs that disqualify hospitality workers mean Ontario is losing out on that potential, the report said.

Simply until Trudeau is gone…

Things will hopefully get better when trudeau and Singh are gone and hopefully Ford is reminded he's a conservative

Recover from Government mandates.

Trudeau's lapdog, Doug Ford, will screw it way further by then.

Stop saying pandemic. Lockdowns and other restrictions were destructive and had zero effect on the virus.

Thank the government

What about Canada after these liberals? Any timeline on this.? Ever?

Gov't will need to impose more lockdowns to kill it permanently...

wouldn't the blame fall on DougFord, the people that elected him, and the people that couldn't be bothered to go vote? would the blame fall on those that keep electing Conservatives, Liberals, and DougFord? 🧠 👈 does this thing work?

And who’s fault is that when all other countries have moved forward already

fordnation let this happen. After JustinTrudeau pulled his strings.

Come for the overpriced food and accommodations leave due to the gridlock! yourstodiscover

This was government induced!! TrudeauNationalDisgrace

Can't afford Ontario! Between JohnTory fordnation and JustinTrudeau Ontario has become to expensive, it is for the elite high-end people! They are removing the low end people! The governments offer assisted suicide to them!! This, of course, assuming 'everything is fine' in 2025. Ontario has nothing to offer, why would anyone pay good money to come here? God forbid that anyone may need to see a Dr. while here, or get any other decent, overpriced services. DougDestroyedOntario

Ask yourself why? It has one of the longest running lockdown restrictions implemented in the world With the way ontario politicians and some citizens treated the truckers I’ll never vacation in ontario again. Most tourists may never recover at all.

It's at fault for allowing deterioration of our boardwalk and tourism infrastructure, is it? Whew... Because here I thought we were going to have to hold irresponsible decisions of elected city officials to blame. I stand corrected. My bad.
