They need to get out to the ‘undiscovered’ islands tourists never visit.
I thought Venice was lovely when I was there over 20 years ago.
Have travelled for many years but since Russians, Indians, middle East and Chinese started to travel, many world attractions have deteriorated because of no awareness or respect, overcrowding, unfriendly and load!!!
I’ve been to Venice. It’s a day time city esp when weather is good. When darkness falls it’s sad with the lonely sounds of the vaporetti chugging up & down the canals
Venice is being ruined by mass tourism which means that the mass tourists ruin Venice for themselves.

Can't stand Italians so it's a non starter for me. Try Norway for boring and I have worked in both.
I agree re Venice. I was really disappointed and to be honest its windy, boring and it stinks. Not for me at all but I can see why people would love it. All comes down to imagination vs reality.

Venice is beautiful! Down to personal taste I suppose. They probably go to Benidorm every summer....

Venice is stunning and very different in many areas, while there are so many places to discover if you go off the beaten path and some great local eateries on the way.
Once you've seen one: ...Red Mountains in Sedona ...Tall building in Manhattan ...Waterfall in Hawaii you've seen them all. PoorLogic
Considering I’ve got a fear of water, Venice has never really been that high up on my list of places to visit.
2 most overrated destinations are Venice & Paris. Really not worth going there.
What an absolute load of 💩💩 I suppose it’s not as good as the entertainment in a 2 star all inclusive
