I was one of the cruise ship passengers in 2017. I spent over €500 on Venetian glass and Italian leather goods during my visit. I also spent plenty at Harry’s Bar and Florian’s. Hopefully that compensated a little for spoiling the city’s character.
Getting charged €30 for a coffee there was bad enough.....

Not at all having family living there life is challenging with so many tourist/litter and cheap shops. This incredible place needs protecting and why shouldn’t you pay!

For anyone who hasn't been to Venice, don't worry it's not romantic unless you get turned on by the smell of shit. If you do like the smell of public urinals save yourself some cash and stick 20p in a train station toilet to get your thrills.
