Joe Biden, the US president, will deliver an address in Co Mayo next week to “celebrate the deep, historic ties” between Ireland and America, the White House has confirmed.

Biden will stay on the island of Ireland from April 11 until April 14, visiting Belfast, Dublin, Louth and Mayo

as part of a trip that will also address the signing of the Good Friday Agreement in Northern Ireland 25 years ago.
