Perhaps Canada and USA should share Visa information? This was probably a case of people entering Canada as visitors, slip into the US and disappear. Canada may have looked for them, when they overstayed, but would not know they had left for the US?

This is very sad to hear, especially since parents put their children in peril. There are rules so why do people feel entitled to skip them? Similar sit'n with the 700 students from India who are due to be deported due to false paperwork. They are enraged and demand protection.

The decision to cross the border that day cost them all of their lives. Thousands attempt it every year. Some will make it and some will get caught. If they’re successful in crossing & now being an illegal, is it really worth it living under the constant threat of being deported?
