When family visit from Britain they’re always stunned by how big Canada is. They see a map and assume it’s the same size as Britain, with the same density of development. Apparently CBC News out of the Lower Mainland is also unaware of how large Canada is.
I travelled from Vancouver to Skidegate in 1991using public transit. Ferry to Vancouver Island. Bus to Port Hardy. Ferry to Prince Rupert. Ferry to Skidegate. I did rent a car to drive to Tlell.

I once went to Port Clements near Tlell. Dinner at the Mayor’s house because not a single restaurant in town. Lunch was at the gas station where the pumps were still in gallons !!! It was wonderful.
