BC Transit will mark Earth Day on Saturday with free bus travel on the Victoria Regional Transit System and in other areas around the province.

Transit said in a statement. “Taking public transit is one way to make a difference.” BC Transit also aims to have a fully electric fleet by 2040, and notes its current province-wide fleet includes more than 280 compressed-natural-gas buses, with the first battery electric buses set to begin service in Victoria this year.
