Travel insurance warning after passport gate chaos

Holidaymakers experienced delays over the bank holiday weekend, after a 24-hour outage caused more than 270 passport e-gates to crash across major UK airports. This left travellers having to wait for manual passport checks on the busiest day for UK air travel since 2019.

David Parker, divisional director at A-Plan Insurance, said it was import for travellers to protect themselves against airport delays before going abroad - regardless of when and where they’re travelling - and has outlined ways to can save money on insurance.
