The RMT said it continues to pursue “a negotiated settlement on job security, working conditions and pay.”In May, RMT members working across 14 train operating companies voted to continue taking industrial action for the following six months. The Rail Delivery Group responded by saying “long overdue, common-sense reforms” were needed as taxpayers “shell out up to an extra £175 million a month to keep the trains running by making up the 20 per cent shortfall post-Covid.”
