It won't be pleasant

A warning is in place for Spain's Canary Islands as a storm is on its way to the archipelago. The Atlantic islands are set to be battered by heavy rain with some risk of localised flooding.

This is due to Storm Oscar, named by the Spanish Agencia Estatal de Metereología , as reported by Yorkshire Live. According to the UK Met Office, this weather will move in from June 4, with the brunt of the storm hitting the islands on Tuesday and Wednesday before it begins to move northwards towards the UK and Ireland.

Any holidaymakers travelling to the islands should be aware of the storm and not just because it might ruin any summer trips to the usually sunny islands. There is also a risk of strong waves and some localised flooding, meaning there may be danger to people staying on the islands.Spain's AEMET has already put in place some orange weather warnings on some of the islands for Tuesday, June 6.

Meanwhile, yellow warnings for rain are also in place in western La Palma with rainfall of up to 60mm in 12 hours, while yellow warnings for wind and rain cover all of El Hierro and La Gomera with rainfall of 15mm an hour.
