A P3.46 billion causeway project, which was intended to cut travel time to the Daniel Z. Romualdez Airport in Tacloban City, is in danger of not being implemented. /PDI

Based on Resolution 15-88 issued on May 25, the councilors said they have learned that the DPWH has failed to include an environmental study on the Cancabato Bay where the proposed causeway will traverse.

“The causeway project would greatly affect the environment, impacting the fisherfolk in Tacloban City,” the resolution read. “This is for us. This is for Tacloban. It will help our people going to the airport. We have also secured an ECC from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources as early as 2019,” he said on Friday.
