Qantas says the slowdown in consumer spending will not hurt its earnings, as people’s appetite for travel remains unaffected by rising household bills and higher interest rates.
“Qantas and Jetstar are gearing up for a busy school holiday period, as travellers make the most of additional capacity and new routes,” the company said in a statement.including Sydney-Auckland-New YorkIn May, Qantas said strong demand for travel and increased flying activity meant it would earn a record profit of between $2.425 billion and $2.475 billion.
In total, 18 aircraft, capable of flying any domestic route, will be delivered by the end of the next calendar year.
