Plans for a new £30m four-star hotel on Blackpool Promenade have been unveiled. The 184-bed hotel would be run by Fragrance Group and based on the site of the former St Chad's Hotel, which shut in 2021.
After St Chad's shut due to insolvency, the building was used for training exercises by Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and Lancashire Police. "The proposed investment of around £30 million reflects Fragrance Group's ambition to act as a catalyst for the wider improvement of the Promenade and enhance Blackpool's offerings to visitors. The company is engaging with hotel neighbors, key stakeholders, and the public to gather feedback before submitting a planning permission application to Blackpool Council."
