Prices at the pump for the Independence Day 2023 holiday weekend are more than $1 a gallon lower than last year. But, the Pennsylvania Turnpike and AAA predict there will be a record number of people traveling by car. The heaviest traffic, the commission said, is expected on Friday, June 30, with 750,000 vehicles. The fewest travelers are expected on the holiday itself, July 4, with 390,000.
