Parking spaces scarce at terminals during Canada Day long weekend

B.C. Ferries is recommending travellers take public transit or get dropped off at terminals as parking is very limited or unavailable in places over the long weekend.

No parking is available at the Tsawwassen and Horseshoe Bay terminals. Parking at Swartz Bay is “extremely limited” at about five per cent, the company said Sunday morning. B.C. Ferries transported 41,123 passengers on its major routes Saturday, which is three per cent less than the Saturday of the Canada Day long weekend last year.B.C. Ferries said its website is experiencing periods of slowness on the schedule pages and online booking system. The website is seeing peak volumes of nearly 15,000 customers viewing up to 80,000 pages in one hour.

Error messages may occur from time to time. B.C. Ferries recommends trying again in the later evening if experiencing an error message or calling customer service at 1-888-223-3779.
