Military aircraft will be visible in the skies over Nottinghamshire as part of an exercise. Numerous types of aircraft will travel over the county during the day between Thursday, August 24 and September 16 as part of Exercise Chameleon.
The Ministry of Defence website says this includes multiple rotary and multiple transport aircraft. Other areas to be affected during the day include Lincolnshire and Yorkshire. Durham, Cumbria, Yorkshire, Northumberland and Lincolnshire are among the areas to be affected during the night. According to Special Operations Forces News, Exercise Chameleon is a bi-annual Special Force exercise, involving members of the Special Air Service and Special Boat Service, together with other essential special forces ground units who support them.To read more about the exercise, visit the government website.
