A Virgin Atlantic flight peaked at 801 mph Monday evening 35,000 feet over Pennsylvania, due to the jet stream, the high-altitude air current along which storms travel.

If tailwind put the aircraft speed over 800 mph, the same time I would almost feel terrible for the pilot heading that wind it will be awful.😳😳

just recently flying from Tokyo to lax. we picked up a 200 mph tailwind on the way. ground speed topped out at 767 mph. we arrived LAX 1 1/2 hours early. no gate for us. we had to park in the sticks and they bused us to the terminal
