Holidaymakers have been warned to expect 'huge delays' as officials say that essential repair work is underway to allow air travel to restart.

All flights to and from Edinburgh Airport have been suspended this morning for for emergency repairs to the runway.

User grumwsmith wrote: "Huge delays at Edinburgh Airport today. Runway has extensive damage, nothing moving at all - advised we won't be moving for hours. Contractors had been called to fix it but didn't bother to turn up. Absolute shambles."
