Robert Pearlman is a space historian, journalist and the founder and editor of collectSPACE.com, an online publication and community devoted to space history with a particular focus on how and where space exploration intersects with pop culture. In 2009, he was inducted into the U.S. Space Camp Hall of Fame in Huntsville, Alabama. In 2021, he was honored by the American Astronautical Society with the Ordway Award for Sustained Excellence in Spaceflight History.

Former NASA astronaut José Hernández has a cameo as a space shuttle closeout crew member opposite actor Michael Peña, who plays Hernández in"A Million Miles Away."The new film from director Alejandra Márquez Abella stars Michael Peña as Hernández and is based on the former"A Million Miles Away" opened in limited theaters on Sept.

"A Million Miles Away" follows Hernández and his family through his boyhood to becoming an engineer at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory while also applying and being rejected eleven times to become an astronaut.
