In a letter urging staff to reject the pay deal, crew were told by officials: “All staff have contributed to the success of our airline but our rewards for doing so have been little more than inflationary or self-funded pay awards.rejected the unions’ suggestion of a three-year pay offer based on the recognised increase in the cost of living - the Retail Price Index - as well as a new bonus scheme.
Officials told the BA workforce: “As trade unions we simply cannot endorse this unjustified detrimental step at a time of record profits and this is why we have strongly recommended rejection of BA’s offer.”
