Langkawi is the place where Malaysians go to purchase duty-free products such as chocolates and alcohol. Also, considering the fact that there are beaches, obviously, tourists would wear shorts too, right?

So, imagine if tourists were disallowed from purchasing alcohol and wearing shorts, wouldn’t that affect tourism in Langkawi? Content creator, Jason Yew, took to his Facebook page to showcase Tourism Minister, Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, in Parliament, bringing up complaints from non-Muslim tourists who have mentioned that they were disallowed from buying alcohol and wearing shorts on the island.Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing shared, “We, frankly, have tourists who have gone to Langkawi, and have brought up complaints to us.

“So they’re having headaches. If it is possible, I request that our Menteri Besar explain this issue that’s happening in Langkawi. Only then can tourists be happy.” The Langkawi MP, Suhaimi Abdullah, interrupted him, asking when tourists have complained about this issue.“Langkawi, when you want tourists, you tell me to send them to you. After that, they complain back to me. So, us two parties need to work together. Only then can we make progress in tourism,” Datuk Seri Tiong King added. What do you think about this?
