PARIS – Hotel prices in Paris during the 2024 Olympics are already rising by more than 3½ times the usual summer rates, less than a year ahead of the 2024 Olympics.

The city expects more than 11 million visitors during the Olympics, 3.3 million of whom are travelling from outside the greater Paris region or internationally and would need accommodations. “More affordable” options available during the Olympics are commanding prices that would be typical of luxury hotels – between US$500 and US$600, according to a spokeswoman for Expedia Group, referring to the inventory on that platform.
