Activity in the tourism sector is “well shy” of pre-pandemic levels, according to the Irish Tourism Industry Confederation , while recovery in the industry has “stalled”.
According to the ITIC's most recent monthly index, 650,200 international tourists arrived in Ireland in July. British tourists were the most common visitor, with 214,000 visiting in that period, while 160,000 North Americans formed the highest spending group, spending €360 million in July alone.
