A senior Israeli officer was killed in a confrontation with militants on the frontier with Lebanon on Monday, Israel’s military has confirmed, and at least three militants from the country’s Hezbollah movement were killed as the military attacked Lebanon in response to a mortar attack.Rishi Sunak said the UK Government was ready to support any British citizens in need of help, telling broadcasters: “I know there will be families who are anxious about their loved-ones in the region.
