Tourism and hospitality: Decision to leave Vat at 13.5% a ‘missed opportunity’

The industry has been lobbying for some time for a reduction in the Vat rate from 13.

5 per cent to 9 per cent, which had initially been introduced as an emergency measure to help struggling tourism businesses during the pandemic. The Vat rate for hospitality businesses reverted to 13.5 per cent last month when the temporary cut expired.
