It’s unclear exactly why room rates in Cleveland have spiked, but October is an active month for conventions and other special events in the city, according to Destination Cleveland. In addition to this week’s Forbes 30 Under 30 conference, which has attracted an estimated 3,000 people to town, the city is hosting the International Elastomer Conference next week, expected to draw another 4,000 attendees to downtown hotels.
