The police at Navalsig are looking for suspects in a double murder case that happened in Ryk Tulbach Street, Noordhoek near Bloemfontein. An elderly couple, a 77-year-old male and 71-year-old female, were last seen on Sunday, 08 October 2023 at about 12:00 by their neighbour at their home. Yesterday, Tuesday 10 October 2023 a family friend who tried to get hold of them on the telephone unsuccessfully decided to visit their home and on arrival noticed that all gates were closed.

The police found the elderly man lying in a pool of dried blood next to the house door. On further investigation the members also discovered the lifeless body of the 71-year-old female inside the house. The victims had multiple wounds on the head and body. A blunt object could have been used. A team of experts were summoned to process the scene. The paramedic also arrived and declared the victims dead.

A Double Murder docket was then opened at Navalsig Police Station. Any member of the public who might have information that can help in the investigation of the case or lead to the arrest of the suspect is requested to contact Warrant Officer Shuping Fihla at 082 4656 040. Alternatively the information can be submitted on MySAPS App or call the SAPS Crime Stop number 08600 10111.
