Anyone heading off on holiday to Spain anytime soon has been warned that strike action may impact their travel plans.
Planned strike action is set to take place in Alicante airport until the beginning of next year, whilst public sector workers in Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura have also been taking part in mass walkouts with more on the way. Anyone that is flying to Alicante - one of Europe's biggest travel hubs - has also been warned by Jet2 that industrial action amongst Ground Handlers will be taking place all the way until early 2024.These strikes are expected to last for one hour in the morning and then another hour in the evening. In an update to customers, Jet2 said: "Please ensure you allow plenty of time to pass through the airport. All our flights are due to operate at the scheduled time of departure.
The road transport strikes, which began on October 2, will continue for October 21, 23, 25 and 28, ending at midnight that night.
