There has been an update to the 'entry requirements'

You have to adhere to the Schengen area passport rules in order to travel to Croatia. Your passport's 'expiry date' must be at least three months after the day you intend to depart and its 'date of issue' must be less than ten years before the date of arrival in order for you to enter Croatia, as well as all other Schengen countries.

The validity of passports issued before October 1, 2018, however, may have been extended by additional months if the passport was renewed early. Passports issued after October 1, 2018, are now only valid for 10 years. The land border between Slovenia and Croatia should take more time to cross, and if the border police ask to see your passport or residency card, be prepared to provide it.

If you are a visitor, every time you enter or exit the Schengen region, which includes Croatia, your passport needs to be stamped. Passport stamps will be used by border guards to verify that you haven't exceeded the 90-day visa-free stay restriction in the Schengen region. Border guards will assume you've exceeded the amount of time you can enter without a visa if your passport is not stamped.

You should provide proof of when and where you entered or exited the Schengen area , and ask the border guards to add the date and location to your passport if your passport hasn't been stamped.Get our best money saving tips and hacks by signing up to our newsletter
