A new launch date has been announced for the visa waiver that Brits must pay for if they want to enter destinations like France, Spain and Italy.
After being pushed back several times, officials have confirmed that the ETIAS waiver won't be brought in until Spring 2025. First introduced back in 2016, a number of factors have put off the enforcement of the security measure. An electric Entry/Exit system will replace manual passport stamping, but the ETIAS can't be enforced until all participating countries have this in place. Wales Online reports these systems are still being deployed and will apply to visa-exempt third-country nationals, including UK citizens.
