Mayor London Breed, community and city leaders on Thursday marked the opening of three newly renovated hotels in the SoMa neighborhood, a step toward revitalizing the troubled neighborhood struggling to rebound from the pandemic amid a surge in remote work and shuttered businesses.

The hotels will likely be booked by visitors attending the Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation summit at nearby Moscone Center from Nov. 11 to 17, said Oxford Hotels’ CEO Sarang Peruni.
