'The success of these hotels means the success of San Francisco,' Mayor London Breed said on Thursday.

Mayor London Breed, community and city leaders on Thursday marked the opening of three newly renovated hotels in the SoMa neighborhood, a step toward revitalizing the troubled neighborhood struggling to rebound from the pandemic amid a surge in remote work and shuttered businesses.

“It’s pretty amazing to see where we were, where we are now and what these hotels are going to do for the future of the SoMa neighborhood,” Breed said. The hotels will likely be booked by visitors attending the Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation summit at nearby Moscone Center from Nov. 11 to 17, said Oxford Hotels’ CEO Sarang Peruni.
