Hazel Lauriston and Stuart Walker's daughters were both born prematurely and they are against others having to travel miles to get specialised care.

A couple are convinced their daughters are only alive today because of the care of the team at Wishaw.

Remi was born by emergency caesarean section weighing just 2lb 2oz at 28 weeks after Hazel developed pre-eclampsia.In Remi’s case, a routine midwife appointment noticed a significant change in blood pressure and Hazel was sent to Wishaw where a doctor told her the baby would be an emergency delivery immediately.Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Hazel said: “It was a rollercoaster. There were so many ups and downs but the doctors and nurses were amazing with us.When little Robyn was born, Hazel was already being monitored because of her history. She was taken into hospital around 24 weeks because of a combination of her pre-eclampsia and fears that Robyn wasn’t growing at the expected rate.
