Commuters were warned to expect since-resolved delays on the Sydney Trains network after an emergency incident occurred about 6.30am on Friday. A female train guard fell from a moving train on the T2 line at Burwood, and the incident is now under investigation, Transport NSW told 7NEWS.com.au. Delays of up to 40 minutes were experienced after the woman fell from the Inner West and Leppington Line train as peak hour began.
Because the network is interconnected, other train lines also experienced flow-on delays including the T1 North Shore Line, the Airport and South Line, and the T9 Northern Line. “Allow extra travel time due to an incident requiring emergency services at Burwood,” Sydney Trains said on X. “Trains may stop on platforms or between stations for longer than normal while the incident is ongoing. “Please listen to announcements, check information screens and apps for service updates.
