has unveiled new character posters for the TV adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s 1955 crime novel, The Talented Mr. Ripley. Starring Andrew Scott as the title character Tom Ripley, the newly released character posters also highlight the “talented” cast of the forthcoming eight-episode series, including Pasquale Esposito, Margherita Buy, John Malkovich, and more.
Set to hit the streaming service on April 4, Ripley will center on the titular grifter and his involvement in fraud and deceit in 1960s New York. “In the series, Tom Ripley, a grifter scraping by in early 1960s New York, is hired by a wealthy man to travel to Italy to try to convince his vagabond son Dickie Greenleaf to return home. Tom’s acceptance of the job is the first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud, and murder. Meanwhile, Marge Sherwood, an American living in Italy, suspects darker motives underlie Tom’s affability,” the synopsis reads
