Allianz has partnered up with SeaMoney, the financial services arm of Shopee's parent company, to launch a new travel insurance offering on the e-commerce platform. This is the third type of insurance being sold through the platform, as Shopee already offers motorcycle and car insurances on its app.
The travel insurance starts from RM3/day for domestic travel in Malaysia while international coverage starts from RM10/day. We tried it for ourselves and found that for travels to neighbouring countries such as Thailand, Singapore, and Brunei, the price quoted started from RM45.The plan includes up to RM150,000 in coverage for Personal Accident Benefits and up to RM165,000 for Medical Related Benefits, including hospitalisation and Covid-19 protection.
