Anyone travelling to certain regions in Spain this summer has been warned that the government is reportedly set to impose restrictions on the amount of water that can be used.
And with the dry summer season about to hit, action has to be taken quickly - so the driest regions may be slapped with the restrictions if domestic consumption isn't brought under control. For context, Barcelona - Spain’s second largest city and the regional capital - uses 160 liters of water per resident per day, according to AP. Catalonia's water agency said this is well below the current limit of 200 litres.Top Trending Stories Today The Catalan government has also relaxed its rules this week surrounding filling swimming pools with fresh water.
