The days are getting warmer, kids are getting ready to get out of school and all that means is summer is right around the corner. Northeast Arkansas News spoke with Jonesboro’s Advertising and Promotion Commission to see what they have planned for the summer of 2024.
Everyone will be looking for something to do. Even people from outside of Jonesboro will be looking in to see what they may be able to here. Rickert spoke about the opportunity the solar eclipse and tourism conference gave to show guests what the city has to offer. “We were very concentrated on those events but those were not one-shot deals for us. Those were chances for us to get people here, expose them to Jonesboro and have them come back a second time, a third time.
We were also able to speak with Joey Glaub of the Jonesboro Shooting Sports Complex about what they have in store for the summer including a huge event for local Boy Scouts. “We’re trying to put a camporee on the facility here and they can also work with getting their merit badges for archery, shotgunning, pistols and rifles,” Glaub said.
